Eugene M. "Gene" Arendt, 93, of Oswego, passed away March 13, 2010, at Countryside Care Center. He was born March 24, 1916, in Chicago, IL. Mr. Arendt was a member of Holy Angels Church. He was a longtime member of the Aurora Country Club, and as an avid golfer he shot a hole in one eleven times. He served the Fox Valley area for fifty six years as an owner of Valley Supply and Tool Company. He is survived by two sons, John Arendt and Michael (Margaret "Peg") Arendt; four grandchildren, Kristin (Brian) Morgan, Daniel (April) Arendt, James (Andrea) Arendt, Alice Arendt; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents, Paul and Antoinette (Menzek) Arendt; two sisters, Lorraine and Geraldine, and a brother, Edwin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 10:00 AM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, Fr. Marianna Ery will officiate with interment in Marywood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, March 15, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at THE DALEIDEN MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora.
