ABBAMONTE, Louis Anthony, 83, of Tullahoma, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the Life Care Center in Tullahoma. A native of Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Nick Abbamonte and Dora Acerenza Abbamonte. He had been married to the late Emily Abbamonte and the late Alma Louise Abbamonte. He was retired from Wilson Sporting Goods Golf Division, where he worked in research and development. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Tullahoma, and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 8th Air Force as a radioman on B-17's. He was past president of Lakewood Country Club in Tullahoma. He is survived by three stepchildren, Dwight, Rhonda and Darren; a brother, Nick Abbamonte, Chicago, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 27, at the Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel, where a prayer service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Bill Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association or a charity of one's choice.
