ABRAHAM, Betty E. - Beloved Mom; cherished Grandma, loved by her great-grandkids. Betty age 84, passed at her home on Friday, March 9, 2007. Family and friends will gather at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Michigan on Monday March 12, 2007. Visitation will be from 11AM Monday until the time of the service at 3PM. Reverend Alan Sikes officiating. Betty, the daughter of Elroy and Ferne, was born May 28, 1922 in her grandparents' home in Mt. Morris, Michigan. Her grandpa was the Sexton of the Mt. Morris Cemetery and she truly loved her grandma. She attended various schools in the Flint and Detroit areas. She sang on the radio at the Detroit Fisher Building, and she spoke fondly of dancing on the boats to Bob-Lo Island. She also worked at the Fort during World War II. Returning to the Mt. Morris and Clio areas, she met her husband of 58 years, Geza. Moving to Burton, she worked at the local department store and became the family business bookkeeper. Having 3 children attending Bendle and Grand Blanc Schools, she became involved in many activities: President of Bendle Band Parents, Bendle PTA, Grand Blanc Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Rollhaven Skate Club. She further enjoyed sewing, knitting, rooting for the Detroit Tigers and vacationing at Disney World. Cherishing her memory are: Daughter, Betty and husband, Gene Swanson; granddaughter, Kelly and husband Rob Schultz; great-granddaughters, Audrey and Isabella; granddaughter, Kristy Glasco; great-granddaughter, Jordan; Son, George and wife Linda Abraham; granddaughters Stacey and husband Steve Dunk, Melissa Abraham and fiancÈ, Rob Chittick; Daughter, Cheryl Landon; grandson, Karter Landon and fiancÈe Carla Shelton; great-grandchildren, Noah and Taylor. Also she is remembered by her "Little Sis" Evelyn; close friend Loretta; many nieces and nephews; her hairdresser, Val. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Elroy ("Chum"), sister-in-law, Mary; cousins, Dorothy and Bill; brother-in-law, Jack; nephew, John; family friend, Jay.
