Obituary (Madison (MO) Times, July 11, 1912)- God in his infinite Wisdom has seen cause to call another of his dear children home. This time the call came to Mrs. Archie L. Alexander, whose gentle spirit was borne above on Angel wings, to Him who said, "Come unto me." Tessie, the only and beloved daughter of Robert E. and Belle Enochs, and darling wife of Archie L. Alexander, bade farewell to all earthly sorrows and cares, and went to her home in Heaven, July 5th, 5:30 p.m. 1912. She had been ill about three months with that dreaded disease, tuberculosis. All that loving hands and hearts could do was done for our darling, but to no avail, God wanted her for his Angel Band, "His will be done."
Tessie Enochs was born May 20, 1893. She united with the Baptist Church at Pleasant Green in a meeting conducted by Bro. J. G. Barker, September, 1908. She remained a faithful and consecrated member until her death. She was married to Archie L. Alexander, December 26, 1911. She is survived by a father and mother, a young husband, and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her loss. Funeral services were conducted at Ash, by Rev. Barker, in the presence of one of the largest concourses of friends ever witnessed in this section. The casket and floral offerings were the most elaborate and beautiful ever in Ash. After the funeral services were conducted, all that was earthly of our darling was laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Ash, to await the Resurrection morn. The pallbearers were Messrs. Edgar Botkins, Dan Atterbury, Curtis Gaines, Lackie Davis, Roy Gaines, and Horace Dickerson. Honorary pallbearers were Misses Berthal Bean, Maltie Dickerson, Icie and Lonah Elam, Crystal Smith and Mrs. Addie Gaines. (verse not copied) A Cousin.
