Retired Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Gale Arley Alton, 63, of 709 Eugene St., Fayetteville, died Monday in his home.

Among Mr. Alton's decorations were the Bronze Star, Korean Service and Humanitarian Service medals, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He worked for 10 years with the Fayetteville Police Department.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Rogers & Breece Funeral Home chapel. Burial with full military honors will be in Main Post Cemetery at Fort Bragg.

Mr. Alton is survived by his wife, Ruby K. Alton of the home; a daughter, Debra A. Edge of Fort Polk, La.; three sons, Frank W. Alton of Hope Mills, Johnny Alton of Pittsburgh and Steven G. Alton of Fayetteville; his mother, Ruth B. Alton of Pittsburgh; a brother, Frank W. Alton of Pittsburgh; a sister, Betty Kiser of Pittsburgh; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
