C. Verdell was born a son of the late Leon and Frances (Farren) Pillsbury. C. Verdell passed on at at Sandy River Rehab and Living Center.
On Oct. 30, 1949, he married Edna Luce at Farmington Falls.
He worked for Maine Dowel in Farmington, the Granite Quarry in Livermore Falls, F.L. Butler Co. and for G.H. Bass Shoe in Wilton as a hand sewer.
He was a member of the American Legion for 37 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and telling jokes.
Beside his wife, Edna of 57 years, he is also survived by two daughters, Barbara Pillsbury of Farmington and Sandra Griffin, and her husband, Brian, of Farmington; grandchildren, Tammy Mayhew, and her husband, Nick, of East Wilton, Mellisa Griffin of Rhode Island and Teresa Allen, and her husband, Steven, of New Sharon; great-grandchildren, Shawna and Steven Allen Jr. of New Sharon and Griffin, Alex, Ella and Will Mayhew of East Wilton; five sisters, Pearl, Ruby, Hope, Iris and Joyce; and two brothers, George and Charlie.
He was predeceased by great-granddaughter, Allie Mayhew; his parents, Leon and Frances Pillsbury; brothers, Edward and Fred; and his sister, Helen.
