Her interests included her much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, church, music, crafts, reading and quilting.

Lillian married Arthur Anderson on March 5, 1955, in Long Beach, Calif., where they lived a short time before returning to this area. Art preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2001.

Surviving are her two children, Susan Tinoco and Peter (Lori) Anderson, both of Ironwood; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Joshua) LaMaide, Elizabeth (Steven) Bardon, and Phillip Tinoco, all of Wakefield, Mich., Joshua Tinoco, Ironwood, Peter (Leslie) Anderson, Ironwood Township, and Michael (Ali) Anderson, Ironwood; four great-grandchildren, Antonio Tinoco, and Alyssa, Tanner and Logan LaMaide; a brother, Alvar Helmes, Battle Ground, Wash., a sister, Ina Lehocky, Milwaukee; 34 beloved nieces and nephews; and family member and friend, Jose Tinoco, of Ironwood.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Toivo, Ahti, Norman and Edward Helmes; and sisters Tyyne Hendrickson, Toini Saari, Ruth Hendrickson and Taimi Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Assembly of God Church, 2100 E. Cloverland Drive, in Ironwood, with the Rev. Mark Ortman, pastor, officiating.

Committal will take place at the church, with luncheon to follow in the church fellowship hall.
