COTEAU - Funeral services for Mrs. Antoine Arceneaux, 90, the former Rita Duplantis, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor today with the Rev. Matthew Higginbotham officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will continue until the time of services today at Evangeline Funeral Home.
A native of Abbeville and a resident of Coteau, Mrs. Arceneaux died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5,2004, at New Iberia Manor North Nursing Home.
Mrs. Arceneaux is survived by her children, Joyce Broussard and her husband, Raymond Broussard of Cade, Eugene Arceneaux and his wife, Jeanette Toucheque Arceneaux, and Orice Arceneaux and his wife, Mary LeBlanc Arceneaux, all of Coteau; her sister, Olita LeMaire of Erath; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren and her special friend and roommate , Carmella Dorsey of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Arceneaux; two sons, Donald Sr. and Arthur Ray Arceneaux; two brothers, Alton and Theard Duplantis; and two sisters, Ozita Toups and Willie Mae Mire.
Pallbearers will be Rickey, Troy, Richard and Donald Jr. Arceneaux; Brent Broussard and Cody Dubois.
Honorary pallbearers will be Orice, Eugene and Ryan Arceneaux, and Raymond Broussard.
The family would like to thank DR's Kenneth and Tracy Ritter, and staff of New Iberia Manor North Nursing Home.
