Martha was the daughter of William Collier and Eleanor Worthy Collier. She is shown in the 1870 census as a 3 yr, old, and in the 1880 census as a domestic in the home of Mary Lloyd in Doylestown. She Married John F. Amweg on the Ides of March 1886. She was widowed in 1891 when her husband, was killed by a train walking home on the tracks from work. He was listed as a Railroadman. That left her with 3 very small boys, William, George, and John F. She remarried Charles Stanley, and they had another son Samuel. She was either divorced or widowed and Martha took back her last name of Amweg and shows on the 1910 Miradex code (Spelled Amevey) with her son Samuel age 14 in the home.
Martha is shown as a Packer at the Ohio Match Company, and her sons John and Samuel show as laborers at the Ohio Injector Company. In 1910, the home was located on Broad Street in Wadsworth, Ohio.
