Leota V. Aitkens, age 87, a former resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Hidden Lake Care Center, Raytown, Missouri. Leota was born the daughter of James and Ida (Holder) Barron on April 6, 1924 in Dawn, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Forest Aitkens, Jr. on August 10, 1940 in Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2000. Survivors include three sons, Dean Aitkens and wife Judy of Grandview, Missouri, Terry Aitkens and wife Karen of Liberty, Missouri, and Randy Aitkens and Pam of Lincoln, Missouri; four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Barron of Lee's Summit, Missouri; two sisters, Bonnie Longstreet of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Juanita Murray of North Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Forest; six brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. A family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri. Friends may call the Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Pitts Funeral Home, P.O.
