William B. Adams, 81, of Mechanicsburg, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at home.
He was born March 29, 1918, in Mechanicsburg to the late Irvin and S. Eva Biddle Adams.
Mr. Adams retired from Penn Central Railroad after 42 years of service.
He was a member and former superintendent and usher of First Church of God, Mechanicsburg, and its Fellowship Bible Class.
He was also a member of the Mechanicsburg Fire Police: Pennsylvania Railroad Retired Men's Association No. 3; AARP West Shore, Mechanicsburg Chapter 3238; Mechanicsburg Senior Adult Center; Cumberland County Volunteer Fireman's Association; Meals on Wheels Singers,; Citizens Fire and Rescue and VFW Post 6704.
He was an auxiliary deputy sheriff for Cumberland County, an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the Cumberland County Fire Police Association.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Grace I. Felty Adams; two sons, Edward B. of Ephrata and James W. of Mechanicsburg; his twin brother, Elmer N. of Mechanicsburg; three sisters, Sara Mae Fought of Carlisle, Viola Adams of Mechanicsburg and Mary Jane Sheipe of York Springs; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Robert W. Malick Jr. and the Rev. Richard G. Felty officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
