Hazel married Earl Clinton Baird on Dec. 14, 1974 in Stilwell, OK. She raised farm animals, loved gardening and decorating her home.
Her husband, Earl Baird, parents, Lum & Clyda Wages, daughter, Connie Phipps Barnes, one grandson, Ricky Phipps,Jr and one brother, Odean Wages, preceded her in death.
Surviving family members include her son, Ricky Phipps and wife, Debbie; one daughter Tammy Nelson and husband, Keith Daniels, all of Westville; 4 grandchildren whom she raised, Bridgette Baird, Shelley Phipps, Robert Barnes and Delena Gifford, all of Westville; 2 sisters, Lois Hampton and Verne Beavers, both of Proctor, OK, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Hart Funeral Chapel in Westville with Pastor John Rozell officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery.
