PANA -- Preston Allen, 78, of Pana died 8:06 p.m. Tuesday (April 22, 1986) in Pana Community Hospital.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in McCracken Funeral Home, Pana, with visitation 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee.
Mr Allen was born in Herrick, son of Joseph Thomas and Zoluen Allen. He was a retired coal miner and a member of First Assembly of God, Pana. He married Dorothy Presnell in 1929.
Surviving are his wife; sons, Elmer Preston of Portage, WI; Roger Lea of Decatur; Chester Martin of Taylorville; Frank Leroy and Gary Douglas, both of Pana; daughters, Zolena Pieper of Portage, WI; Dorothy Mae Taylor of Beloit; Mary Catherine Pieper of Pana; Rose Mary Berkes of Fort Wayne, IN; 34 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 12 great-stepgrandchildren. Thirteen brothers, three sisters, one son and one daughter preceded him in death.
