Juan Fernandez Abalos died on Friday, Nov. 4 in his Woodland home, at the age of 97.
Mr. Abalos was born July, 25, 1908, in Daupan, Pangasinan, Philippines, to the late Juan and Lailai (Ferndandez) Abalos. He had been a Yolo County resident for more than 50 years. He retired from Flores Farms after 30 years in the agriculture and ranching operations and went on to work with Project Green Thumb for 10 years.
Survivors include Mr. Abelos' daughter, [redacted for privacy], and his grandchildren, [redacted], along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Maria Flores Abelos.
Services: A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Monument Hill Memorial Park at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 with Deacon Edward Kull of Holy Rosary Catholic Church officiating.
Memorial donations in his name will be given to a charitable organization of the donor's choice. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland is assisting the family with arrangements. Inquiries may be made by calling 662-4658.
