Funeral services for Hester HENSON CAREY, 90, of Hulbert, were held August 27, at Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Jimmy CAREY officiating. Burial was in the Keener Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert HENSON, Luther HENSON, Ronald HENSON, Ed HENSON, Richard KEENER and Johnny KEENER. Honorary pallbearers were Don HENSON, Jim Bob HENSON, and Waitie HENSON.

Hester was born May 13, 1908, in Cherokee County, near Hulbert, Okla., the daughter of Richard and Caroline WELCH HENSON, and she died August 24, 1998.

Hester was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Hulbert and attended Wyandotte school until the sixth grade. Hester was 15/16 Cherokee and proud of her heritage.

We will remember her sitting on her front porch and smiling whenever a little one came to visit. She lived her entire life loving and serving others.

Mrs. CAREY was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Madison CAREY; two daughters, Georgia and Katie; one son, John Henry; three brothers, Major, Jim and Rufus HENSON; one sister, Linnie KEENER; three nephews, J.B. KEENER. Survivors include one son, Jimmy of the home; a nephew, Chester of the home; one brother, Mose; six grandchildren, Carla, Jimmy Carl, Amy, Amanda Kay, Candice and Bonita; and two great grandchildren, Madison and Serena, all of Okla.
