Mary Cathalene Adams, 70, of Worthville, Ky., died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at the Tri-County Hospital in La Grange, Ky.

She was born June 30, 1930, in Franklin, Ky., the daughter of William and Rosa Lee Young Brown. She was a homemaker, a member of the Church of Christ in Dry Ridge, Ky., and a Kentucky Colonel.

Surviving are her husband, Donald Ray Adams of Sanders, Ky.; one daughter, Nora Elaine Downey of Port Royal, Ky.; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Jones Jr. of Pleasureville, Ky., and Donald Ray Jones of Carrollton, Ky.; her mother, of Sanders; five sisters, Sue Gail Braden of La Grange, Rose Margaret Beach and Alma Joyce Snow, both of Sanders, Virginia Frances McElfresh of Indianapolis, and Linda Charlene Hemingway of Madison; one brother, Charles Chandler Brown of Pleasureville, Ky.; two half sisters, Julian Brewer of Defoe, Ky., and Hazel Woods of Pleasureville; two half brothers, Michael Brown of Eminence and Tony Brown of New Castle, Ky.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Opal and Roosevelt Brown; and two sisters, Willie Louise Frazier and Violia Peterson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. EDT Wednesday at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, with burial in the Port Royal Cemetery in Port Royal, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday and after 10 a.m. EDT Wednesday.
