BURGE
James L. Burge was born Aug. 18, 1913 in London, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in Hannibal, Mo. He married Pauline Porter Nov. 3, 1934 in Hannibal, Mo.
He graduated from Hannibal High School and attended Hannibal Le Grange College. He worked 20 years for S.S. Kresge Co. He owned Ben Franklin Stores in Mt. Ayr and Chariton for 25 years.
Survivors are three children, Sandy Buck, James P. Burge and Diane Anderson; seven grandchildren, Kathy Schweer, Kris Pratt, Karen Thurm, Michael Buck, Mitchell Buck, Jamie Burge and Justin Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Schweer, Kory Schweer and Tora Pratt.
Services were held June 6 at the Fielding Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Hambleton officiated. Interment was in the Gerlaw Cemetery in Gerlaw, Illinois.
