LEBANON - Graveside services for Benny Fred "Pete" Adams, 74 will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Lebanon Cemetery with the Rev. John Sconce officiating.
Born on Feb. 7, 1933, in Gainesville, Texas, to Edward Samuel and Nancy Lucille Peaks Adams, he died on Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the Ardmore hospital. He and Mina Mae Clark were married on March 6, 1957, in Gainesville. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 1, 2007, his parents, a sister and three brothers.
A resident of Love County most of his life, he attended school at Gainesville, and served with the U.S. Navy eight years during the Korean war, receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, China Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He was a Baptist and worked in constructing as a house painter, taper and bedder. Fishing was his favorite pastime.
Survivors include a nephew, Carl Clark, of the home; brother, Lyndon Carrol Adams, Whitesboro, Texas; other nieces and nephews.
