GILSON - Merland Cadwell, 80, formerly of Gilson, died at 9:20 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, at Galesburg Terrace Nursing Home in Galesburg, where he was a resident.
He was born Sept. 13, 1923, in Knox County to Clyde "Bill" and Minnie Thurman Cadwell.
Surviving is Eleanora DeCrane of Davenport, Iowa, with whom he had made his home.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, one brother and one grandson.
He was a farmhand and was a material handler at the former Gale Products in Galesburg for 25 years before retiring.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Burial will be in Trenton Cemetery in rural Dahinda.
