Mildred L. Benefiel, 75, of Vandalia, died at 12:48 p.m. Thurssday, 19Dec1996, at her home.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia, with the Rev. James Phillips officiating. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial was in Taylor Cemetery, rural Vandalia. Memorials: American Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Benefiel was born 31Jul1921, in Smithboro, the daughter of Rufus Causey & Jesse J. Hudson. She was a homemaker & a member of the Methodist Church, Pittsburg. She married Claude R. Benefiel on 15Oct1940, in St. Louis, MO. He died 02Aug1975.
She is survived by son, Floyd Benefiel & wife Mary of Cleveland, OH; daughters, Juanita Robertson & husband Billy of Shobonier; Judy Brazle & husband Lowell of Vandalia & Leona Rhodes & husband Carl of St. Elmo; 15 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; & 9 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 sons & 1 infant.
