Pearl E. Barber, age 102, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles. She was born June 3, 1909 in Batavia, the daughter of Thomas and Sophia Ellen (nee Jervis) Hansford. She was united in marriage to Forrest E. Barber on October 12, 1940 in Batavia. Born and raised in Batavia, Pearl lived on the same street for 102 years. She was a dedicated collector of angels and her passing truly has her children feeling that they have lost their "Angel Mother". Pearl was a lifelong member of the Faith Church of the Brethren in Batavia, and for a long time she held the honor as the oldest living member. She is survived by her children, Mary Williams of Batavia and Thomas (Donna) Barber of Bartlett; two grandchildren, Scott Williams of Geneva and Jessica Barber of Bartlett; a special niece, Elaine (Marvin) Meyer; and several other loving family members. The family wishes a special thank you to Marysia Kenar for her wonderful care of their mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Pearl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Forrest; her siblings, Thomas "Tucker" Hansford, George Hansford, and Nell Anderson; and a son-in-law, David Williams.
