Mrs. Frank Acker, 73, resident of Forreston for many years, died Sunday at 3:30 a.m. at the Central House, which her husband owns. She suffered a stroke a year ago and a second one May 18.
The former Nettie May Foy was born Sept. 28, 1876, one mile west of here, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Foy. She attended the White Oak rural school and moved to Freeport with her parents when she was quite young.
On May 25, 1904, she was married to Frank J. Acker at Cherokee, Ia. The couple managed the Central House here since their marriage. Mrs. Acker belonged to the First Lutheran church of Freeport.
Surviving besides the husband are one daughter, Mrs. Wm. (Susan) Nolting of Chicago; three grandchildren; one brother, Torrey Foy, and one sister, Mrs. L. H. Matter, both of Freeport. Two sisters died previously.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the first Lutheran church in Freeport. Rev. Charles F. Landwere, pastor of the church, officiated. Interment was in Oakland cemetery, Freeport.
