Myrtle M. Abbott, 93, of Sandwich passed away in her sleep on May 30, 2008. She was born September 7, 1914 in Salem, IL to the late Luther and Zetta Blankenship. She worked several years at the Children's Shoppe in Sandwich. She was married to Harry Abbott whom she and he moved to Portland OR, until his death and returned to Sandwich in 2000.
She is survived by her children Lucinda (Cindy) Pozzi of Sandwich, and Barbara Rose of Arkansas; her brother, Gilbert (Lois ) Blankenship of Newark; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; she also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husbands, Louis Datshefski and Harry Abbott; two sisters, Rose Smith and Lucille Seaton; and her dog, Chase.
The family would like to thank all of those loving people who cared for Myrtle over the years.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, 2008, 2-6 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home Sandwich Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow, Oak Ridge Cemetery Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society.
