Amos emigrated to Bureau county at age 21 in 1850 with his parents, siblings and extended family. Married Malissa Redmon of Buda, Illinois(7-1-1844 to 7-20-1870) on 9-11-1861.

They had four children:
William S. 2-25-1863 to 9-7-1888.
Alpheus Marion 1-12-1866 to 1-17-1952
Wilmer 11-5-1867 to 1-22-1937
Edgar James 6-24-1869 to 8-1966

Amos married Margaret Cole on 10-01-1871 in Illinois.

Amos first married Malissa Redmon on 9-11-1961 and had four children. Malissa was born 7-1-1844 and died 7-20-1870. No burial record for Malissa. Amos is the second child and son of James and Terreacy Brown Anderson.
