An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on August 4, 1927 for Mrs. Nannie Ainsworth, an aunt of Gilbert C. Hodgson, states that she had died in Chicago on Friday [July 29, 1927]. Mrs. Ainsworth was one of six daughters born to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Adams of Shelbyville. All of her sisters, excepting Mrs. Mary Hawes of Chicago, had preceded her in death. Two listed in the obituary as dying in the last nineteen months prior to Mrs. Ainsworth, were Mrs. Luella McKinney of Colby, Kan. and Mrs. Flora Warden. Mrs. Ainsworth was survived by a son, George Fithian, a grandson and the sister, Mrs. Hawes. She was twice married, her first husband being Lewis Fithian, a former livestock buyer in Shelbyville. Mr. and Mrs. Fithian had moved to Chicago in the early 90's. Mrs. Ainsworth's father was an auctioneer. The remains were brought to Shelbyville for burial in Glenwood Cemetery where a short service was held at the graveside.
