Martin L. Adkins, 58, Route One, Sycamore, died Saturday evening, Jan. 29, 1966 in the DeKalb Public Hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1907 in Letart, W.Va., the son of Alexander and Effie Grimm Adkins. He married Edna Flinty, June 10, 1939 in Rockford and was employed at the Chiateth Feed Yards here.
Surviving are his widow; his mother in the Lydia Rest Home, Hampshire; four sons and three daughters, Daniel, Dundee; Jerry, Belvidere; Leo and Pearly, DeKalb; Ruth Stoever, Genoa; Betty Gaul and Jennie Lou Wood, both of Sycamore; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Orin of Columbus, Ohio and Leslie in the Philippines; a half-brother, John Rohrobraugh; four sisters, Sylvia Taylor, Rockford; Ethel Van Meter, Elgin; Zelma Wolf, Belvidere; Gainet Paulson, Sycamore; and a half-sister, Edith Andrews. He was preceded by his father and a brother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Van Natta Funeral Home with Rev. Donald F. Bourne officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call tonight at the funeral home from 7 to 9.
