1860 Census, Aurora, shows Peter, 45, born Scotland, Luretia, 35, born NY, children Isabell, 8, Sarah, 7, James, 5, Charles, 4, and Willie, 2, and Ann R. Innes, 70, born Scotland. (Ann Innes died 20 Sep 1865 in Aurora, age 80, of paralysis.)
Unknown if her remains are still in this cemetery - there were many removals.
Aurora Daily Express, 28 January 1893: "Peter Innes Dead. Peter Innes, formerly of Aurora, died at the residence of his daughter in California Thursday morning, January 26, of apoplexy. He was 78 years of age. Mr. Innes lived about a mile and a half west of Aurora city limits until he went to California in 1879. He was the father of James Innes, county treasurer."
Isabel was living with her father in 1880, as were S. I. Hortson (?), 26, born IL, female, married (Sarah?), W. P., 22, born IL, C. F., 13, born IL, male (#137726512, Cyrus Field Innes, born IL), E. M., 11, born IL, female, R. A., 6, born WI, male, and N. H. Dressor, 54, born NY, female, married. Charlotte Baker Innes' obit does not name her children, but the youngest 3 must be hers.
William Pender Innes? William P. Innes married Emma Siller in 1886. She was widowed by 1900. There is an obit index for William P. Innes, who died 17 Aug 1896, State Insane Asylum, Stockton. Emma is buried with her sister Sophia Groeser at Sacramento City Cemetery.
