With his wife Katie Bienemann he operated the old East Chicago Globe newspaper at East Chicago during the 25 years following their purchase of the plant in 1899. Owing to their son's poor health, they removed to a farm near Beaverville in 1924.
Word was received here of the death of Allison Pitt Brown,87, at 4 a.m. yesterday at his home in Beaverville, Illinois.
Mr. Brown, son of Thomas W. and Rebecca C. Brown, was born April 11, 1862, in Blue Mound township.
He leaves his wife; a brother; and several nieces and nephews. A son preceded him in death.
Services will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow in Beaverville. Burial will be in the Brown cemetery, nine miles southwest of Decatur.

Allison P. Brown, 87, resident in the Beaverville area for 25 years, died at his home early Saturday morning.
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's church of which he was a member, with Rev. F.X. Hazen officiating. Burial was at Decatur in the old Brown family cemetery.
Mr. Brown was born April 11, 1862 in Macon county. He married Katie Bienemann March 8, 1887 at Valparaiso, Ind., while they were both attending Valparaiso University. She preceded him in death on July 23, 1927. A son, Francis, also preceded him in death.
On Feb. 7, 1929, he married Edwina H. Haas. He taught for several years in Lake county, Ind., and was editor and publisher of the East Chicago, Ind. Globe for 20 years. In 1924, he moved to a farm east of Beaverville, where he lived until he retired and moved to the village 10 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Edwina; a brother, Marley of Forrest and several nieces and nephews.
