MURPHYSBORO -- William D. Carlock, 84, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in Murphysboro.
William was born July 3, 1927, near Murphysboro, a son to the late Thomas E. and Beulah G. Akins Carlock.
William was a U.S. Navy veteran and served his country during World War II.
He was a retired insurance agent and handyman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, in Boucher Cemetery near Murphysboro. Military rites will be conducted by members of American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7190, both of Murphysboro; VFW Post 2605 in Carbondale and Jackson County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 69. There will be no visitation, and those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Peggy Crider of Benton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carole Carlock of Murphysboro, and several nieces and nephews.
