She is survived by her son, Verne "Tinker" Bader and wife Cathy of Meredosia; her daughter, Mary Elaine Bader of Browning; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Bryant of Storm Lake, Iowa; four grandchildren, Maggie Bader, Hunter Bader, Jeff Schmitz and wife Jennifer, and Joy King and husband Derrick; two great-grandchildren, Karly and Camden Schmitz; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three; and one sister, Mary Bryant Webster.
Elaine earned a Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University and a Master's Degree from Western Illinois University. She was the Browning Post Mistress and was a business teacher in Metamora High School, Arenzville High School and Rushville High School until retiring in 1988. Mrs. Bader affected the lives of hundreds of students during her teaching career. Elaine was a member of the Browning United Methodist Church, the Astoria Rebekah Lodge, the Schuyler-Brown Retired Teachers Association, Order of the Eastern Star and the Rushville B and PW Club. She enjoyed her family, visiting old friends and especially attending her grandchildren's activities.
Services were entrusted to Worthington Funeral Home of Rushville, Illinois.
