Mrs. JACQUELINE ALLARD
Mrs. Jacqueline (Jackie) M. Allard, 42, of McKinley Street died unexpectedly early Thursday night after she was stricken at Mt. Anthony Country Club, where she had been its head waitress in the club restaurant since 1959. Transfer was made to Putnam Memorial Hospital by the Bennington Rescue Squad and she was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Arthur S. Farris, medical examiner.
An autopsy was being taken by the state pathologist at Rutland today.
Born in Bennington Feb 24, 1924, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Eva (Theberge) Durocher. She had attended local schools and was a graduate of Bennington High School. She was married to Joseph Allard at Bennington in 1948.
Following her graduation from high school, she had been employed at Paradise Restaurant until she started her waitress duties at the Country Club. She was recognized as one of the best waitresses in the area, was efficient and genial, and had made a host of friends through her employment at the Paradise and Country Club.
Survivors are four sons, Joseph, John, Jay and Jeffrey, all of Bennington; one sister, Mrs. Walter (Leonore) Sheridan of Hoosick Falls; one brother, Charles H. Durocher of Bennington; also uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home Monday at 8:30 am with a prayer and in Sacred Heart Church at 9, where a Requiem High Mass will be offered. Burial will take place in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be recitation of the Rosary Sunday at 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made in her memory through the Mahar & Son Funeral Home office.
