Funeral services for Dolores Bassham, age 78 of Sulphur Bluff will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Judge Robert Newsom officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Bluff Cemetery with Leroy Cox, James K. Bassham, Roy Herman, Benny Deaton, James Waller, David Caldwell and Mike Guilkey serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Dolores passed away on Friday, October 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born on May 17, 1937 in Sulphur Bluff, the daughter of Joe Denver and Sybil (Hankins) Dorner. She married James Arlon “Pete” Bassham on September 11, 1954 in Greenville. He preceded her in death in April, 2015. She retired from H.D. Lee as an office clerk and was a member of the Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, James Arlon, Jr. and wife, Rachel of Sulphur Springs and Barry Scott Bassham of Sulphur Bluff; brothers, Billy Joe Dorner and wife, Sherry of Dike and Bert Dorner and wife, Barbara of Sulphur Bluff; grandchildren, Brennan Bassham, Blair Bassham, Jason Bassham, Kristin Bassham and Ross Bassham; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Cera, Tristin, Delilah, Racheal, Brittney and Georgia.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Imogene Arthur and one brother, George Dorner.
