KINGSTON -- Reginald Chapman, 93, died May 11, 2009, at the Portsmouth Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 14, 1915, in Exeter, son of George Edward and Edith M. (Wentworth) Chapman.
Mr. Chapman attended grade school in Stratham and high school in Exeter. He had resided in Kingston for the past 15 years, previously living in Exeter for a long time.
He worked for 34 years in the maintenance department at Phillips Exeter Academy. Many local residents would remember the farm stand he ran during the summers on Epping Road.
Mr. Chapman enjoyed playing music for different local area organizations and clubs with his brothers.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda M. Roche in 2000, by four brothers and by two sisters, Lucy and Hazel.
The family includes his wife, Viola Chapman of Kingston; a son, Paul Chapman of Troy, Mich.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, George Chapman of Georgia; a sister, Bette Reid of Rhode Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St. Exeter.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston.
