Dennis Beckedahl, 73, of Williston, formerly of Epping, passed away Monday afternoon, November 18, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home in Williston.
Dennis Roger Beckedahl was born in Sherwood, North Dakota on January 30, 1940 to Melvin A. and Helen (Krueger) Beckedahl. He was raised and educated in Sherwood.
Upon graduation from high school, Dennis enlisted in the US Army where he was trained as a Artillery Specialist. It was while stationed in Germany that he met Erika Vogel. The couple were united in marriage on January 29, 1965 in Ansbach, Germany. On July 29, 1965, Dennis was Honorably Discharged from the Army with the rank of Sergeant. The couple then returned to the United States, where Dennis was employed as a welder for various companies until his retirement.
Dennis was an avid hunter and outdoors man, he enjoyed riding his horse, Sinbad. He was a Life Member of the National Rifle Association and a longtime member of the American Legion.
Surviving Dennis are his wife, Erika of Epping; son, Ronnie Beckedahl of Hemet, CA; daughters, Leila Beckedahl of Lake Elsinore, CA and Cindy Beckedahl of Wildomar, CA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Minnie of Buena Park, CA and Donna (Dwayne) Just of Minot, ND; and sister-in-law, Jackie Beckedahl of Sherwood, ND.
Preceding Dennis in death were his parents, Melvin and Helen Beckedahl; brothers, Darwin and Darold Beckedahl; and brother-in-law, Rex Minnie.
