Amanda Rae Bachmeier-Lara was born August 6th, 1979 to Robert and Betty (Fenner) Bachmeier of Granville, ND, and died at the age of 27 on September 6th in her home in San Antonio, TX, comforted by her loving mother and father, husband and children.

Amanda was raised and educated in Granville, and graduated from Granville High School in 1997. During her school years, Amanda was active in 4H, FFA, and cheerleading. She was always willing and happy to participate in any activity, no matter how much work was involved. During her adolescence, Amanda was always happy to help out her big brothers' by watching over her nieces and nephews when work was needed to be done - she always had a niece or nephew in her arms, and her loving nature carried on to when she had her own children.

After graduation, Amanda was employed by K-Mart of Minot for several years, and met Anthony Lara, her husband to be. Amanda and Anthony had their first son Caden in 1999 while living in Minot, ND. Shortly after, Amanda and her new family moved to San Antonio, Tx, and their second son, Blaise was born in 2001. She was employed by KB Homes, San Antonio, TX, and her work ethic, integrity, and amazing way with people advanced her quickly to Manager of Customer Service. Their family was united in marriage March 18, 2006 in San Antonio, TX.

For the past year, Amanda fought a courageous and heroic battle with cancer. Amanda was a joy to her family. She always had a smile on her face, and never complained about anything. During her illness, Amanda's concern was not for herself, but for her children, husband, and her family. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Amanda was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Granville, ND and the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, San Antonio, TX.

Amanda is survived by: Husband: Anthony Lara, San Antonio, TX; children: Caden Anthony Lara and Blaise Anthony Lara, both at home in San Antonio, TX: parents: Robert and Betty Jean Bachmeier, Granville, ND: brothers: Bill Bachmeier, Pat (Amber) Bachmeier, Bob (Sheryl) Bachmeier, Jason (Natasha) Bachmeier, all of Granville, ND: grandmother: Esther Miller Freelander, Burlington, ND; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Walter Fenner, paternal grandparents, Anton Bachmeier, Phyllis and Albert Schiele, sister-in-law, Lisa Larsen, uncles, Michael Stroh, Albert Schiele Jr., aunts, Gemma Ball and Audrey Meyers.

Visitation: Monday, September 11, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Granville, ND
