Memorial service for Clarence Arnold, 79, of Ashley will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 26, 2015 at Ashley Baptist Church. The Rev. Christopher McLaughlin will officiate.

Burial will be in Ashley City Cemetery.

Clarence died January 23, 2015 near Ashley.

Clarence, son of Otto and Ida (Delzer) Arnold was born February 6, 1935 at Venturia, ND. He attended school in Danzig, ND. His family moved to Ashley in November of 1944. He worked for his dad hauling grain for Otto Arnold Trucking. After his dad died in 1993, he and his brother Joe took over the business and named it Arnold Brothers Trucking. Clarence also worked at Ashley Livestock Sales for almost 40 years, also working for many area farmers.

Clarence was a member of Ashley Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to basketball games and jigsaw puzzles. He loved visiting and being around people. Clarence truly appreciated the beauty of flowers. He was a Minnesota twins fans and enjoyed watching sports on television.

Grateful for having shared Clarence’s life are his siblings, Arleen Rath, Herbert (Inez) Arnold, Lorraine (Gideon) Becker, DeuWayne Arnold and Delores Arnold, all of Ashley and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Elmer, Roman and Walter “Joe”, one sister, Ruby Denning, one nephew, Darrel Rath and two brother-in-laws, Ervin Denning and Paul Rath.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Monty Becker, Donna Pownell, Lonnie Becker, Edith Wagar, Lyle Arnold, Leah O’Leary, Richard Denning, Emma Wright, Dennis Rath, Loreli Becker and all of Clarence’s great nieces and nephews.

The organist will be Jean Schnabel and the soloist is Jim Wagar.

Carlsen Funeral Home of Ashley has been entrusted with arrangements.
