Isabella was born June 21, 1834 to Robert Stein & Isabel Davis Keene. She married Daniel Beckwith Ball on Sept. 7, 1864 at Boston Mass. To this union 7 children were born. They homesteaded the Walker Ranch in 1873, they had the first well, store, Sunday School & postoffice. Mrs. Ball was the postmistress. The ranch was on the Oregon Trail, their nearest neighbor was 25 miles away. The post office was later moved to the community of Keene, now a town named after Isabella using her maiden name.
