Laurence Carl Anderson passed away on October 25, 2008 at the Harlan County Health Systems in Alma, NE at the age of 95. Laurence was born on August 6, 1913 in Ragan, Nebraska, the third of four children of Carl John Anderson and Charlotta Saphrona (Ferdinand) Anderson. He received his education from the Ragan High School, graduating with the class of 1931. Shortly after graduation, he became enlisted in to the United States Army Air force on March 12, 1942 and was honorably discharged on November 15, 1945. During his tour of duty, Laurence achieved the rank of Corporal of the Company A - 55 Armored Infantry Battalion.

On August 2, 1953, Laurence was united in marriage to Lorene Virginia Loudy and to this union one son, Oren was born. Laurence also considered Lorene's two daughters, Virginia and Linda his own. The family made their home in Ragan where Laurence farmed until 1960. After farming, he worked for the Brewster Hospital in Holdrege and was later employed by Becton-Dickinson until retiring in 1965. The family later moved to Alma, NE in 1978. Lorene passed away in 1994.

Laurence was a member of the United Methodist Church of Alma, the V.F.W. Post #7601 of Alma and the Retirees of B-D Club. He enjoyed telling jokes, going to auctions, camping, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Laurence also enjoyed delivering tape recordings to church shut-ins and ushering at church. Laurence was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

Survivors include his son, Oren Anderson of Lexington, NE; two daughters, Virginia Harding and her husband Gary Harding, Sr. and Linda Head and her husband Norman all of Odessa, TX; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents; two sisters, Myrtle Anderson and Berneta Likens; one brother, Arlie Anderson; and two great-grandchildren.
