Allan "Lee" Anderson, 68, of Sidney, Neb. a retired veteran of the Nebraska State Patrol who covered the Kimball area., died Thursday afternoon, November 25, 2004 at Memorial Health Center in Sidney.
Funeral Services were held 11:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 29 in the First United Methodist Church in Sidney with the Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Graveside services were Nov. 30 in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Dannebrog, Neb. with the Rev. Robert Carlson of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church officiating.
Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials have been established to First United Methodist Church or Memorial Health Center in Sidney, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, or Columbia Hall of Dannebrog.
Allan LeRoy Anderson was born January 16, 1936 in Rising City, Neb., the son of Kenneth Dale and Mildred Mable (Heins) Anderson. On April 7, 1957 he married Carol Mae Nielsen in Dannebrog.
He retired from the Nebraska State Patrol after faithfully serving the State of Nebraska and its citizens for 30 years. He flew air patrol for traffic enforcement from 1967 through 1980. His duty stations included Chappell, Kimball and Sidney. Following his retirement he enjoyed playing golf with his friends and his grandchildren's school activities.
He was a member of the State Troopers Association of Nebraska and the Golden Fleece Masonic Lodge #205 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors include his loving wife Carol; three children: Kevin Anderson and his wife Kelly of Aurora, Colo., Kathy Wiest and her husband Michael of Lodgepole, Neb., and Kyle Anderson and his wife Lynn of Castle Rock, Colo.; five grandchildren: Holly Anderson of Sidney, Jason Wiest of Lincoln, Neb., Justin Wiest of Lodgepole, Nicholas and Samuel Anderson of Castle Rock; mother Mildred Anderson of Grand Island, Neb.; four brothers: Norman and his wife Sonya Anderson of Central City, Neb., Darrel Anderson and his wife Connie of Grand Island, Donnie Anderson and his wife Patti of Unionville, Mo., and Ken Anderson of North Platte, Neb.; one sister Marlis Key and her husband Tom of Casper, Wyo.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brothers Garry and Merle Anderson.
