Mr. W. C. Ragland died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A.P. Spencer of Loretto, Nebr. on November 27, 1916 at the age of eighty-seven years, three months and nine days. The cause of his death was inflamed bowels.

Mr. Ragland was born at Summersville, Kentucky on August 13, 1829. On 1849 he was married to Nancy Bowen, who departed from him eight years ago. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.

He was a man, who commanded the respect of all who knew him, a true and loving husband and father.

The funeral was held at the home of his daughter on Thursday and the remains were brought to Creighton on Friday morning and were laid to rest beside his wife in the Olcott cemetery and a prayer was offered by the M.E. minister, Rev. McCallister.

William Ragland was the son of Richard and Rebecca B. Williams from Janet.

On his wife's site, her maiden name is given as Morris, not Bowen. Her site gives marriage as 1848, instead of 1849.
