This may be a sister of John H. Carney whose story is given in the Sibley Centennial Book (1978).
John came from Winchester, Ky after the Civil War. His mother and "the younger children" came later than he to Shirley, IL and then to Gibson City, Ford Co. IL. The account does not name John's parents or siblings. However, Jessie's husband is buried in Drummer Twp. Cemetery in Gibson City, while she is buried here with the Carneys.
Note: the Mt. Hope record lists all the family under the name Garney. (a typo)
