OBITUARY
Mrs. Wm. Rupe died at her home in South Polo on Monday March 21st after a long illness of consumption.
Mary J. Rainwater was born in Ray county, Mo. Oct. 9, 1854 and was married to J.M. Clark March 14, 1869. To this union 13 children were born 10 of whom are living. Mr. Clark died June 3, 1893 and in November 1895 she was united in marriage to Wm. Rupe. Three children were born to this union and one survives.
Mrs. Rupe joined the Baptist church at the age of 19 years. She suffered much; but bore her suffering with a christian spirit and never complained that her burdens were to hard to bear. She was a kind loving mother, a thoughtful neighbor and a friend that could be relied upon.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Rev. H. Barlow, of Liberty, after which the remains were laid to rest in Baker graveyard south-east of town.
Card of Thanks
We wish to thank those who were so kind to us during the sickness and death of our wife and mother, and assure all that the kindness was appreciated.
Wm. Rupe and Family.
