Vienna, GA- Jim Braxton, age 69, of Vienna, died Wednesday.
Born in Greenville, NC, he was the son of the late James T. Braxton, Jr. and Luna Mae Edwards Braxton. Jim graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Wilmington College where he played baseball and basketball. He was a professional baseball player, businessman, and farmer. He served the community of Dooly County as a baseball coach and a member of various community organizations including the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club, as well as being a supporter of the Vienna United Methodist Food Bank.

Graveside services will be at 2 PM Sunday in Vienna City Cemetery.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Jim's life beginning at 4 PM Sunday at 268 Faver Road, Vienna.
