Eliza and William lived near Union, WV and then moved to Laurel Creek. In 1854, Eliza's brother sued William Ellis for her divorce. She left Monroe Co., WV and went to Iowa with her 2 brothers. Eliza was given custody of her and William's 5 children. She took them to Iowa with her.
