LAWRENCE BUCK, ARCHITECTURAL ARTIST, DIES AT 64
Lawrence Buck, nationally known architectural artist and water color painter, died suddenly yesterday at his home on Marshman street, Ravinia, of a heart ailment, from which he had suffered for more than a year. He was 64 years old.
Born in New Orleans, Mr. Buck came to Chicago in his early twenties. He maintained a studio in the city until nine years ago, supplying architectural drawings and acting in a consulting capacity to other architects. Since he gave up his studio he had spent most of his time on his water color work.
Many of the beautiful homes in the north shore suburbs were designed by Mr. Buck, including that of the Cyrus McCormicks in Lake Forest. His latest building design was for the school building in Ravinia. He was a member of the Arts club.
His widow [Lettie Wagner], a daughter, Miss Virginia Buck, and a sister, Miss Lena [or Mina] Buck of Evanston, survive. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p. m. today in the undertaking rooms at 27 North Sheridan road, Highland Park. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
