Bradley served in the US Army during WWII. Services for Bradley Barnes, 81, of Hurt Lane, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Spurlin Funeral Home by the Revs. Albert Gisler and Bill Morrow. Burial will be in Manse Cemetery, Paint Lick. He died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 29, 1923, in Garrard County, he was a son of the late James F. and Edna Hubbard Barnes. He was a farmer and a member of Fairview Christian Church for 48 years, where he served as elder and trustee. He served with the Fighting 69th Infantry Division in World War II in the European Theater, Germany, France and Belgium. He was the widower of Anabel Berry Barnes. Survivors include three sons, Bradley N. Barnes of Waynesburg, Nicki Barnes and Larry Barnes, both of Lancaster; two daughters, Mary Ann Yocum of Danville and Linda C. Wells of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Charles Barnes of Lancaster, Virgil Barnes of Southport, S.C., and Herbert H. Barnes of Cincinnati; a sister, Dorothy J. Jacavino of Louisville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marty and Brad Record, Scott, Jennifer and Brad M. Barnes, Chris Hogue and Keith Newcomb. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Gisler, Melvin Begley, Mike Gisler, Robert O. Gisler, Beverly Miller, Michael Prewitt, Collen Preston and Wanda Booth. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday.
