RUSHFORD—Mertie Peckham of Rushford and a former resident of Yorkshire, died Tuesday (October 30, 2007) in the Absolut Care of Houghton. She was born on July 30, 1914 in Artesian, South Dakota a daughter of Peter and Lottie Torsey Kittleson. She married Burton S. Peckham who predeceased her in 1972. She was a member of the Rushford United Methodist Church and former member of the Yorkshire Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Eldyn) Davies of Rushford, Donna (Arthur) McElheny of Machias, six grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Milo Kittleson, Gerald Kittleson, Eldon Kittleson and two sisters, Helen Warner and Cora Ockerman.
Family and friends gathered from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Rushford United Methodist Church where funeral services followed at 12:00 p.m. Bradley Chesebro, pastor and Richard Provorse, former pastor of the Yorkshire Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Yorkshire Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home 21 North Genesee St., Fillmore.
