American Folk Figure. He was the "Old Dan Tucker" of the United States folk song by Daniel Decatur Emmett. The most memorial lines of the song go "Now old Dan Tucker's fine old man, Washed his face in a frying pan, Combed his hair with a wagon wheel, And died of a toothache in his heel..." (bio by: Chuck Garland)
