He started and developed the Quakertown School Farm while head of the high school agriculture dep. from 1939 to 1945. He was active as a farm management consultant and farm equipment engineer. Ray was instrumental in establishing Girl Scouting in Quakertown, He was also active in Boy Scouting, receiving the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service.
