VIOLA D. MOSLEY

Viola Dean Mosley was the daughter of James Franklin and Martha Crumm Mosley. She was united in marriage to Charles Henry Hammond, on February 17, 1887, in Nebraska. To this union were born eleven children: James Franklin, Hattie Mae, Fred William, Martha Ann, Charles Henry, Stella Maude, Edna Bell, Exie Vera, George, Dorothy and Donald.

One of the saddest deaths to record is that of a mother being taken away from a family of small children, and that is what has befallen the home of Chas. H. Hammond, when his wife, Viola succumed to the grim reaper, death Dec. 31, 1911. Mrs. Hammond was the mother of 11 children , the youngest two being only a few minutes old when their mother breathed her last. She died giving birth to twin babies, a boy and a girl . They with the rest of the family, (except a small son lost in her earlier years) are left to mourn the loss of a loving and devoted mother who had made home, the best place on earth, for her husband and children. It is said the children and parents alike being always ready to look after the welfare of the other members. Words cannot express the sorrow and loss to this family and community.
